Trail Update 4/15/25 – Marinette County Trails remain CLOSED. The decision when to open is a County Forester decision in coordination with the four clubs that maintain UTV/ATV trails in the county in addition to coordinating with Oconto, Forest and Florence Counties. Speaking for the Dun-Good Riders trail system, the ice storm wreaked havoc, with the 70 individuals that helped with our trail cleanup day (thank you very much to them) and the hours we have put in all week we have over 300 hours into tree and brush removal and still have two miles of trail to clear. With the high winds over the past two days, we can only hope additional damage is minimal. In addition, several trails still have snow, ice and frost so we need warm weather and rain to help clear that up, and the forecast shows three days with rain and zero days with high above 60 degrees through April 29, 2025, so it may be a slow process. For those of you that are compelled to complain about the trails not being open, please redirect that energy to reach out to the clubs and ask what you can do to help with the cleanup and opening process. You can be assured we will post the trail opening as soon as we are notified.
